Jha Ji, as we addressed him at the NDA, was a wonderful soul. He was a true Bihari Babua heart and soul. He was so efficient at humour, that the moment he opened his mouth to say something we would commence laughing, even before he could say what he wanted to, knowing fully well that some hilarious stuff was going to emanate. He had that uncanny knack, of even making statues smile, with that up twirled moustache of his, over which he would spend quite some energy and effort. Jha Ji, a Bihari was commissioned into the Pom-Pom, Madras Regiment. It was a good equation, Bhojpuri-Tambi, exchange of dialects. Col Jha was the part of the Guard at Rashtrapati Bhawan, coincidentally along with two other coursemates- Sanjeev Khanna and Rajiv Gupta, leading the Naval and Air Force contingents. He did a wonderful job, as a Commanding Officer of an Infantry Battalion. We lost him rather early in life due to illness in 2007.
He is survived by his lady wife Shailbala who resides at Ghaziabad, and their children Ashish and Abhishek, who are working.
🙏May his soul rest in peace🙏
