Sushant Maira born in Dehradun, had studied at various prestigious institutions such as La Martinere College, Delhi Public School and Colvin Taluqdar’s College.

Sushant Maira was born in Dehradun and studied at various prestigious institutions such as La Martinere College, Delhi Public School and Colvin Taluqdar’s College. He joined NDA Echo Squadron in 1976 and was a class gymnast with a healthy mix of brain and brawn. He excelled at athletics and sports and was an outgoing and fun-loving person. He was known for his sense of humour with a great sense of comic timing. Deeply committed to his work, Sushant was a gentleman and a wonderful friend to all. One of his favourite hobbies was painting and was blessed with artistic hands. He passed out as CSM from Echo Squadron and was commissioned into Armoured Regiment. Remembering him as an energetic person with the swagger of a Cavalry officer, Sushant ‘s daring act of climbing to the second floor through the balcony after leaving his house keys elsewhere is still recollected as a popular memory among his friends. Sadly, destiny had snatched him from us in Apr 2008 due to an Illness.
 
He is survived by lady wife Girija who is currently settled down at Pune. Girija, a Master’s in Social Work, is an associate with the Akanksha Foundation. Their elder son Anirudh is an Instructional Designer in Pune and Karthik, the younger son is on the Mutual Fund Advisory Team for APAC in Credit Suisse, Mumbai.
