Lieutenant Colonel

Lovingly addressed as PEDRO, at NDA. A perfect Lakhnavi gentleman sincere and spirited to the core. Harsh was a walking talking Library on Pedro Jokes.

Lovingly addressed as Pedro at the NDA - a perfect Lakhnavi gentleman, sincere and spirited to the core. Harsh was a walking, talking library of Pedro jokes. Many an Ante-Room evenings, he would regale his squadron mates with his Pedro jokes to the hilt and liven up the mundane, morose, serious, and trouble-faced lives of cadets. A wonderful individual, he would thereby imbibe in his coursemates more zeal and zest to keep front-rolling away with renewed vigour, be it the squadron staircases, PT Mat, doormat, hardbound surface, tarred or cemented. Come what may, 'Never Say Die', CHEETAH he was. Commissioned in 53 Medium Regiment of Arty. Harsh was diagnosed with a brain tumour in Jan 2003 after a sudden indisposition at Beas and was moved immediately to RR Hospital. He had a steely resolve to survive. Destiny, however, had other plans and after a valiant fight for survival lasting eight months, we lost him on 23 August.

He is survived by his lady wife Poonam, who despite the personal tragedy, did not only bring up her son Mayank and daughter Shruti in a stellar manner but also took care of Harsh's parents as their other son is settled abroad. They are now settled in Dwarka where she teaches at APS Shankar Vihar Delhi Cantt. Mayank, a Hotel Management graduate of the Prestigious Welcomgroup Management Institute, after a stint with ITC Hotels, quit his job to be an entrepreneur in the hospitality sector. Shruti, after her engineering degree, acquired an MBA in Health Management. She and her husband Himanshu work for an MNC at Noida.

🙏May his soul rest in peace🙏
