Dilip was hard working and sincere and devoted to his Regt and family. He came from a village background and did his schooling in Sainik School Satara.

Dilip was hardworking, sincere and devoted to his Regiment and family. He came from a village background and did his schooling in Sainik School Satara. He was a regular member of PT display team at the NDA and was commissioned in the Rajput Regiment. After his retirement, he was diagnosed with cancer.- quite surprising given that he was a teetotaller. He smiled through his illness, encouraging us more than we would do for him. 
 
He is survived by his lady wife Vandana who is currently settled down in Pune. Their daughter Gayatri is married. She was interning at Taj Mumbai during 26/11. She has since married and is still working in Taj. The son, Tejas, had topped the XII CBSE Board West Zone and later did his post-graduation from Oxford. He is presently involved in research related work at the elite Madame Curie's Laboratory in Paris.
